Came across this interesting post on r/ethiopia. What do you guys think? Is there base to his claim or not?

I do believe however the Somali region should have sovereignty over their land away from everyone else and thus make a decision for itself (if given the chance to) without any countries meddling in their affairs. [Both Somalia and Ethiopia]

I like stalking it every now and then but its normally not targeting Somalis on this level. I do understand their sentiment though technically ethiopia is made out of many peoples and somalia is technically a 1 ethnicity country so they cant see eye to eye

Read through his account and see how the majority of his comments are about Somalis & how he tries to diminish us as “nomads” (not that being a nomad is bad) who just happened to migrate to Ogaden and NFD. This is why I think people should always push back against false narratives about our history even if it’s coming from an anon burner account. Don’t fall for the meme that habesha diaspora are clueless about their homeland & don’t care, they’re just sly

Without American intervention, both the Brits and Italians wanted a greater Somali state, but the Americans feared communism would spread, mainly from Ethiopia so they planted the seeds of war by allowing the Ethiopians to take the SR eventually both countries became communist, but had territorial disputes, with it eventually igniting the Somali-Ethiopian war.

Exactly, the whole East African ‘muuh we all fam’ that diasporas typically push is bs and younger Somalis on TikTok eat it up. Young Habesha diasporas are not clueless and are pretty kept up to date with their region and its politics and just hide any disdain for Somalis. I was at uni once at a study table and this habesha girl accidentally slipped up about the 77 war and it told me everything I needed to know. I pressed further and boom a whole new side of xenophobia and cuqdad for Somalis

You ever think about how Ethiopia is having their adal moment. It’s like a resurgence of the 15th century if you really think about it. Back then we conquered, dominated and massacred them. And now with the decline of Islamic powers, their rise mirrors ours. They dominate the region, multi ethnic like Adal (supported by like minded nations, Israel US) they’re having their moment and we’re living in it.
