A planned motion of no confidence against Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Kheyre is in the offing, an MP has told Radio Dalsan.

According to the MP who spoke on the condition of anonymity at least 100 legislators will be backing the motion.

In what may be seen as a call by Somalia's international partners seeking political coherence US Ambassador Shwartz asked for Somali politicians to work together.

"The Somalia government- executive and legislative- needs to put aside the threat of political crisis and focus on making the real progress againts its major priority" Schwartz said in a statement to commemorate Somalia's independence day.

"Progress should not be undermined by citizens and groups that profit from dysfucntion" Shwartz said.

I swear i am so sick of these people. He's been in office for four months, what possible reason could they have for a vote of no confidence this early in his term :snoop:

My message to these xoolo MP's:birdman:

Don't worry. Gabre was showing off 150 mps and when push came to shove he didn't win the election. The same thing will happen here

Screw democracy. It's not made for the Somali mindset, we need a monarchy like Morocco. Yeah i said it :kodaksmiley:

There's a fucking surprise. Who would have thought that the filthy cesspool made up of former warlords, corrupt businessmen, and slimy opportunists of every stripe would bring a rent-seeking no-confidence motion.

Fucking disgusting bastards. Farmaajo should simply ignore it.

I wouldn't be opposed to Farmajo ignoring all that democratic shit, he should just focus on doing his thing. Same goes for Hassan Khayre. These corrupt xoolos can take that vote of no confidence and shove it up their asses.

Here's a new rule that should be asserted into the constitution:

If members of parliament feel strongly that the prime minister's government is not functioning, or is not abiding by the expectations and wishes of the Somali people or the national interest, and if they are unable to resolve their issues with the government through dialogue, then they may call for a no-confidence motion. And if the motion passes, the prime minister will be removed from office. However, the passage of a no-confidence motion will also dissolve parliament and trigger fresh parliamentary elections.

Giving a bunch of clueless illiterate people a procedural democracy is bound to cause problems.
Somalia is not ready for democracy and will not be ready in a thousand years. There needs to be a developmental authoritarian state.

An authoritarian state is the only thing these people will understand.

He has done nothing to warrant it. I suspect it all comes down to the usual, corruption, clan politics etc.
