13th century in the horn an age of transformation

I don't have any new information but I was looking at the clanridge history of africa. Isn't it weird how much changed in the horn of africa in the 13th century? You have
1) solomonic dynasty founded
2) multiple arabic sources really start talking about somalia and the horn
3) somali scholars in yemen appear
4) somali scholars mentioned by mohamed artan appear in syria and eygpt
5) aw barkhakde is said to have lived in the 13th century
6) ifat is formed
7) multiple mosques constructed in moqadishu
What triggered all of these major transformations in this particular century. I feel like the mongol conquests and the subsequent fleeing of people from major centers like baghdadh and damasucs and parts of iran probably had something to do with the transformation. Since this is when we start to see those grave inscriptions from mogadishu
