How do I get involved in this, do I reach out to family back home? I’d rather not do that since they’ll harass me for money. I want to see if I can contribute in someway.

I need to get involved in this, a large percentage of my job revolves around cybersecurity, I personally know two people who went back to Mogadishu and got killed by al kebab so will refrain from attending any conferences until they get dealt with.

I wouldn’t mind meeting on zoom. But xamar is relatively safe for folks who are in the private sector, so you could definitely take part in something similar to this.

I studied computer science with a focus on Information technology. I’m well rounded in all of IT from cybersecurity, cloud, coding, and networking. I’m still pretty early in my career since I am a recent graduate but I want opportunity to give back. My cousin is a civil engineer he currently works in Somalia.

I agree with this. So long as you stay clear from politics and stay away from where politician congregate you are good. The earlier you go the better as you will face less competition @NidarNidar

I'm going back to do my master's in Networking and security, I originally went through the CS route but ended up in computer networking, been working in the managed service sector, so been dabbling with everything.

Networking is fun bro and a masters in networking and security is also good. With AI growing network security is going to be in more demand. It’s always good to learn networking since without a basic understanding of networking you’ll be a bit lost at times with cyber security.
