Somaliland authority arrested four people on charges of spreading the Christian faith in the country.

A couple with newly born baby are among those who have landed in jail in Hargeisa.

They were arrested on the 21st of January.

The married couple were identified as Mohamed and Hamdi.

The crackdown of Somaliland police led to the arrest of an Ethiopian female by the name of Aster.

The police searched the residential house which also led the capture of another woman in connection with the group.

Persecutors have demanded that they should be given extra time to prepare the charges against the suspects who are still in police detention.

Somaliland previously arrested several people who were accused of spreading the Christian faith in Somaliland and were later deported from the country.

Think if Muslims was arrested in Europe and America. It is not good arresting people based on their religious faith. Let people live in peace everywhere.

Both Somalia and Somaliland prohibits the propagation of religions other than Islam. The individuals apprehended will be released soon anyways and deported/exiled so this incident is nothing more than a storm in a teapot

if u dont like others idea being expressed in ur homeland dont expect the same courtesy from others

There are ethnic Somalis christians living in Somaliland and Somalia that can not be open about it. People should respect each other and focus on developing and living together.

May Allah Bless SL for being firm on their Deen and banning the proselytization of false religions. Proselytization of any religion other than Islam should be banned in all Muslim countries.

We have to distinguish between murtads and born-christians. People trying to convert others into Christianity and Christians respecting muslims and not trying to cause fitnaa. :draketf:

and where are they going to be held? near the christian cementary with the massive crucifix? :pachah1:

Double standard. Typical.

They're afraid they will accept Christ. Otherwise, there would be no need to do this. Christians don't ban and imprison Muslims prosletyzing because they're not a threat and also because of freedom.

There are quite a number of Somali Christians in East Africa who practice in secrecy due to the threat of intimidation and murder. There are hundreds in Toronto who also have to worship discreetly and are part of an underground church. Years ago, we had their white priest on here who confirmed it for those who didn't believe it. I wish I could find the thread. I wish him and his Somali congregants safety.

If they are helping the poor people i dont see a problem plus they wont stay christian. The 80s proved this.
