"BREAKING: 47 al-Shabaab militants, and 5 government soldiers were killed in Saturday’s militant attack on El-Dheer town, the Somali government reported in a press statement. The statement said government forces were aware of the imminent attack from the militants. It says 9 militants were killed in the first phase of the attack outside El-Dheer. This was followed by an ambush near Ali Yabaal village were 18 militants were killed, per statement. An airstrike targeted the remaining al-Shabaab fighters in Ali Yabaal village killing at least 20 fighters, the statement added."
