A Puntland MP was an election observer at the recent Minneapolis City Council election

The organization Fair Vote Puntland invited Xildhibaan Xaamud Ismaciil to Minneapolis as an election observer so he could learn from the electoral process in an established democracy.






In the same ward Xildhibaan Xaamud was observing the local elections, Puntland native Jamal Osman won re-election against Abdirizak Bihi, another Puntite.






Fair Vote Puntland along with Minnesota State Rep Mohamud Noor are currently working on establishing trainings and seminars for Puntland MPs. This has strengthened my confidence in Puntland’s commitment to democratization and the upcoming local elections for the remaining 47 districts. It’s in great hands @FBIsomalia.
