There is so much wrong with this video. This comment sums up some of the main points:
  1. Adal's capital was not Harar but Zeila in Somalia. Harar became the capital city much later in the existence of the sultanate.
  2. The Adal Sultanate did not convert Somalis to Islam. Somalis became Muslims in the 7th century before the Hijra to Medina by the prophet PBUH, there is still a mosque with two Qiblas in Zeila Somalia.
  3. Ottoman Support for Imam Ahmed Gurey, did not arrive before the campaign but rather in the middle of it.
  4. The Battle of Shimbra Kure was not the first battle fought in the war but the biggest.
  5. Cristóvão da Gama was killed in the Battle of Wofla before Imam Ahmed Gurey was injured.
  6. Imam Ahmed Gurey was not just a soldier. He was the grandson of the Sultan. He gave himself the title Imam and made his brother the Sultan while remaining the de facto leader.
  7. Imam Ahmed Gurey was a Somali from either the Geri or Harti Kombe tribe. There is even a monument of him in Mogadishu Somalia.
  8. Amhara was never a Muslim land. They were another Solomonic Christian Orthodox highlander just like the Tegarus (Tigrayans).
Also, the video failed to mention that Somalis were the predominant ethnicity within the sultanate. This post by @Factz is well-sourced and provides a good overview on this topic.

Its more complicated than an ethnic war or even a religious war. Ssome of the Masiisxi Xabash were sometimes supporting Cadal and sometimes supporting the Abyssinian emperors/warlords/princes fighting Cadal

We know about the Oromo expansion after Cadal war. @xabashi did the wars also shift the balance of Abyssinian center of power from Tigrinya to Axmaari territories
