The fishing deal was horrendous. Why not choose a scandinavian company that value taking precautions to protect marine life and avoid pollution.....something that china does not understand. They will be more weary of international condemnation if they try to illegally dump waste or overfish unlike china who don't care about repercussions. Another alternative would have been for the idiots down south to wait until they can borrow money from the IMF to build up the fishery sector and train our own fishermen. This would create jobs and improve the economy and GDP whilst also raking in a staggering £200 million a year which could be used to pay off the debt in small paymnts over 110 years. £1 million is a shit deal! and xamar knows it but avoiding it would actually require stopping to think which the farmaajo administration cannot do.
Successful countries that were previously 3rd world borrowed efficiently from international banks and used that money to build up their own businesses without selling off all their resources like West african nations and made enough money to pay off most of their debt. This is something i never can envision south somalia doing and this is why i have no hope for this current generation of somalis.
