A year after establishment of the first democratically elected government in 1960, Mobutu staged a coup on the behest of Belgium & US. He was incompetent president and later deposed by rebel leader Kabila. Kabila failed to consolidate his power and end up being assassinated. Every since the country is largely a no man's land. Hundreds of armed factions funded by foreign powers continue to exploit natural resources specially eastern Congo.
They probably are the richest nation in africa in terms of resources
I didn't know Congolese spoke Swahili.

They do but there swahili is very horrible the only worse one is the Rwandan dialect and that was because it was banned due to the swahili people being 'Children of Muhammed'
