What other clan contributed to the Somali cause aside from Darood?

Land of Punt

Punt is an cushtic empire located in the horn
can you stop, though, what are darood doing now to save somalis when bantus are threatening to wipe us out

anyway the ajuran empire was not darod, nor was the adal sultuate, we should be proud that all clans had a nice history, but that is what somalis will be - history, if we dont come out of the mindset that this clan is better than another

The Ajuraan are not Darood correct
But the Adal empire although mixed with many Somalis and other cushites such as Afars was a predominantly Darood majority state.
Ahmed Gurey and Aamin Nur were both Darood of the Mareehan branch. Amin Nur inherited the empire after the death of Gurey, marring his wife to assure her assets wouldn't be taken elsewhere.
S/O to Ajuuran tho, they broke records

Exactly, the empire was united under Somalinimo and Islaminmo
We should look at our past and mimic the beautiful states while tossing out the horrifying ones
A unity between Somalis means East Africa speaking the Somali language instead of Swahili
Our influences are dominant, the Somali language is fun and rich in metaphors and similes.

Ahmed Guray having been a Marehan has been refuted again and again.

Siad Barre really gassed them up.

Every Marehan in his lifetime goes through this phase.

Let's not be underachievers and claim other mans history. :lawd:

Here are some of the quotes from the book, we think are significant:
At this moment the companions of the imam screamed out, saying,‘The infidels have tricked us; they are after the livestock,’ whereupon the imam split his forces into two divisions: one he entrusted to Garad Ahmusa, composed of the Somali spearmen of the Marraihan, the Gorgorah and the Hawiya; around one-thousand of them from among the most famous spearmen. And from the soldiers bearing shields, the same number.
”He sent (another messenger) to the tribe of Marraihan whose chieftain was Hirabu bin Goita Tedros bin Adam*, and he also sent (messengers) to the outlying Provinces to spur them on to the jihad, for God, and in the way of the Most High God.
*:(160) Goita or Goyta, the Tegrenya for ‘master’ or ‘lord’, Francesco da Bassano, Vocabolario tigray-italiano, col.883, seems to have been sometimes used as a title and sometimes as a personal name.
The imam accepted his excuse, and then said to him:‘But no good will come to you from just wishing (that things will improve). Thereupon Hirabu appointed his nephew to command the Marraihan and they rallied around the imam -ninety cavalry and more than seven-hundred footsoldiers- with Hirabu bringing up the rear. The imam went back to his city of Harar, taking the tribe of Marraihan with him.”
”Then Hirabu the chieftain of the Somali tribe of Marraihan, killed one of the equerries of the sultan ‘Umar Din when he was in Nageb. The imam heard about what Hirabu had done, and he said to the Sultan ‘Umar Din,‘This Somali has acted treacherously towards you and killed your equerry.’ So the imam, and the sultan with him, prepared himself for an expedition and set out and arrived at the country of the Somalis, as far as Kidad. Hirabu. meantime, had fled and was hiding in his own country. The imam asked the sultan,‘What shall we do now? I am going to send for him to hand over the horses, and to pay the blood-money. If he does so, then all is well: if he does not, then I shall go against him, while you go back to your country.’ So the imam sent to Hirabu to hand over the horses, and to pay the blood-money to some sharifs of the family of Ba’ Alawi, the Husainites, may God bless us through their means.”
”The army camped around the city (Harar; my own barracks), with each tribe being kept apart from the others. The tribe of the Marraihan was, however, wavering. Their chieftain was a man fond of intrigue and procrastination. Extremely wily, he loved double-dealing and swindles. The imam organised some of his soldiers and went to the Marraihan and confronted Hirabu and his tribe and said to him:‘Why are you lagging behind in coming on the jihad? Hirabu complained about his plight, and excused himself on the grounds of his poverty-stricken state.
”A tribe called Girri then came to the imam. A dispute had arisen between them and their companions in another tribe called the Marraihan whose emir was called Hirabu, so the imam Ahmed sent a message to Hirabu emir of the Somalis, to make peace between them.”
”Now, having finished this, let us return to the earlier narrative, and look at what happened during the Somali campaign. When news of the imam’s leaving for the outlying provinces of Abyssinia reached them, a certain person, by name Hirabu, a chief of one of the Somali tribes called Marraihan, had arrived half-way along the route to the country of Harar. After verifying the departure of the imam to the land of Abbyssinia, he doubled back and returned to his own country.”
”He also sent (a messenger) to the tribe of Girri which was the tribe whose leader and chieftain was Mattan bin Utman bin Kaled, the Somali, his brother-in-law*

Nobody cares about Kacaan fabricated documents.

Dir sacrificed a lot of blood for the Adal wars.

If he's not Dir, then he's Hawiye(Karanle).

At the end he's Irir.

Not Darood.

Next!

This subject has been repeated for far too long.

I even heard Leelkase claim him.

Marraihan, the Gorgorah and the Hawiya; around one-thousand of them from among the most famous spearmen.

For your information , the Gorgorah are Dir

Besides the book mentions Marehan being related to Habar Magaadle. :lawd: So are you saying Marehan is related to Habar Magaadle since you believe everything in the book to be accurate? It would be retarded to think 1 man in history recorded all the events.

There is more to the Adal wars then one book.
I see you want to claim Tewodros too now. Are you tired of being a Somali already lmao. :mjlaugh:

Somali-Tycoon. Be proud of your regional history. Be proud of Gedo and Cabudwaaq and it's surroundings.

If you think Mareehan is NATIVE to GEDO, than you're the least educated person on here.
It was AMIN NUR an ethnic Mareehan who founded the city of Harar, how'd he end up in Harar? lol
Give actual documents, not an image that you carved out.
No one knows exactly what clan gave birth to Gurey. I'll give you that. But using the code common to us ethnic Somalis, we can somehow pinpoint an origin.
As we all know, when an empires leader dies, usually a relative steps in and takes over.
This relative not only inherits the empire and its wealth, but he also inherits the wives of the former emperor/leader.
After the death of Gurey, the empire was inherited by AMIN NUR. An ethnic Mareehan, his clan is out there.
Not only did Amin Nur inherit the empire, but he also married the wife of Ahmed gurey, and as I stated, wives are married off to relatives to assure them their assets wont be lost or inherited by someone whos not related to her husband.
Now that being said. Why would a leader of Dir decent allow an ethnic Mareehan to govern his empire and wive his widow?
Are you telling me that there were no other DIRS related to Gurey who couldn't inherit the empire and the widow?
Why would he unexpectedly hand his fortunes to another man?
I'm using these facts to adjust reality against fiction. If he was Dir, his widow and fortune would've been secured by a Dir relative. This didn't happen. Hopefully you understand what I'm addressing
Back to Gedo real quick. We the SADE conquered this land in the late 30's, just as the Italians started migrating home.
Why? Shits got amazing soil, and them Bantus get to work real quick

Horta why do minority clans claim darood accomplishments when it fits them?

You don't see us MJs claiming darood glory. There's us then there's darood. It's like 50 year old man still eating at his father's dinner table. Smh!
