When I went to Mogadishu I realised the people are very battle hardened, alshabaab are just seen as a nuisance. Everyone in the city knows a lot of bombings were masterminded by other people and shabaab just want to claim it to show relevance. The only influence they have is over some businessmen who are too scared to lose their wealth if they don't listen to them.

check the names of people that were killed in hotels or by al kebab later, all of them were against the government & some of them tried to run for parliament without permission of certain group.
