Inspector General of police Joseph Boinnet revealed one group is now pledging allegiance to Islamic State while another one is supporting Al Qaeda. The one supporting ISIS is operating in Lafey area near Mandera County while that behind Al-Qaeda is based in southern part of Kenya and within Boni Forest. In his Christmas and New Year message, Boinnet said the new developments continue to pose a threat to Kenya and urged for vigilance amongst Kenyans in the festive season.
“They are competing to spread an international jihadist agenda, which could be deadly if and when it happens. They are injured and I urge Kenyans to exercise vigilance all times,” said Boinnet. Speaking in Nairobi, Boinnet said there are about 100 militants who are operating in Northern part of the country and they keep crossing from Somalia to Kenya for attacks before they vanish.

If they've recently cottoned on this, their secret service and police are worse than I thought. They split into two a few months ago.

They said at least 500 troops have pledged an alliance with ISIS. The men who carried out the bus attacks were working for ISIS.

The campaign by the international terrorists isn't a thriving movement but insteads it's the kicking of a dying person.

Alqaida and all it's off-shoots were doomed from when the USA showed that it is willing to destroy cities (faluja) and rebuild it afterward to win the war in Iraq against the insurgents(modern day isis).

Isis in the horn is just Alqaida the dying man throwing his last kicks before he passes away.

They're practically the same people but one group is more native/local and wants Lamu and Mombasa to join Somalia as an emirate. The ISIS ones want total chaos, their goals are outrageous, more than just Kenya's coast but the whole of North, East and West Africa to become an emirate. 500 troops won't get them far when half a dozen die in every major attack. The insurgency in Somalia is coming to an end and I think they want to get a few attacks in while they still have safety in Somalia. Somalias military are getting serious training including air cover, soon Shabaab won't have any hiding places because locals will support the Somali military if they can provide adequate protection.

Shamis the current isis leadership is former Baathist army officers along with Baathist spies and other Baathist employees of saddam hussein so they were intelligent enough to take over Alqaida from with in once they allied with the insurgency which was fighting the Americans. It was a match made in heaven for the Baathist since they the Baathist were being hunted by the USA and it's new Shia puppet rulers.

Now that isis is lead by former military men who make up al baghdadi'a cabinate since he is just a religious figurehead in the organisation then it is the Baathist who are running the show inside isis.

You can tell their strategic depths from how they managed to organise a mutiny with in Alqaidas international branches/affiliates and cells. Currently isis is controlling most of Alqaidas branches so effectively it is isis that is stationed in all of these locations.

@7ONE7 Saddam's people? I knew they wouldn't have just died out like that. It had to be ex military men. They've been waging a propaganda war against AQ which made them look like part timers Lol. They've achieved something unprecedented by having a functional government in the middle of a war zone. I don't know how they did it. If they didn't achieve this they wouldn't have support outside of Syria/Iraq. Now these foreign groups just want to expand the caliphate but they're nuts because America will never run out weapons and countries like Nigeria want the military funding and they're ruthless. It's doomed they should give up it's not the era for new empires it's not going to happen.

These imbeciles must be stopped. They're utterly disgusting, killing innocent people for no reason. I hope they get stomped on like the cockroaches they really are.

ISIS and similar groups are a death cult. Their leaders know that they can never win from the West, even if they completely take control of Syria. What is the point in killing off so many young men for a lost cause? Truly bizarre.

For them it's an issue of pride. They didn't like the idea of USA toppling their leader, installing a more favourable one and that being the end of the matter. They'd look like wimps.

Somalia is currently occupied by foreign mercenaries paid by the West, of course this does not bode well for Somalia's future as an indefinite colonial state. Seems like people like to point the finger at certain groups but ignore the elephant in the room.

In my eyes brother both groups need each other, and they are basically two sides of the same coin.

Of course they need each other, one to justify the continued presence of foreign troops in Somalia and the other side to profit from misery. Al Shabab and Kenya are secretly working together under a non disclosed "tariff" agreement which gives them both breathing space and financial income to export charcoal to the shisha hungry middle east.

The only loser is the somali people

It's a damn shame.
We should find new political allies.
