Shaash saar (Scarf placing) is a general Somali thing throughout, not really specific to southern tradition. Perhaps the ceremonial aspect of it, but all it is placing a scarf on a brides head. It is linked to head covering of women being symbolized as married and unmarried women didn't cover their hair wore braids instead.

What people call alindi is really just a cotton cloth that is dyed in a colour pattern that is general to Somalis and it actually holds cultural implication rooted in pastoralism they are imitating the colours of the coats of certain goats:
but the colour pattern which was often red, yellow and black or ochre was added with natural dies to their white cotton cloth even by country side nomads with dye plants such as orcha weed and Jirmah. It has a cultural meaning in Somali culture

Inshaโ€™Allah, weโ€™ll get the chance to repay them for all their sacrifices. And may Allah reunite your auntie with her babies in Jannah.

I've actually seen goats with those exact coat colors in Bosaso and the Khaleej. Trippy to think about and look at the garments now.
