On this episode we go back in time , in the late seventies,
the SNA were triumphantly marching , repossessing territories and shelling heavy artilleries at its enemies , let's say Uncle Sam had backed Somalia with armaments and it led the opposing armies to retreat in large numbers thus changing the course of history.
In this alternate timeline, we will discuss,
what would had happened if we had completey liberated Soomali Galbeed and the international community had recognised the contested platau to merge with the Somali Republic ?

His would life be under this newly liberated land , would the victory and high morale of the soldiers solidify the unity of Somalia and win the hearts and minds of the Somali people or would this brief moment of excitement and enthusiastic euphoria ome down crashing really ?
Would the inevitable civil war still take?
And what fate would lie with our neighbours?

There are so many questions.

Knowing our people , I think the civil war was unavoidable , Somalia was a military dictatorship , a lot of groups and clans felt marginalized even in the 70s , it was just a matter of time, in my opinion.

agree but I feel like the economic and morale down turn that followed the 77 war contributed significantly to the distrust against SB and the civil war. So if we had won that, moral would be high and SB would have more favourable rating. And if the international community didn’t betray Somalia we wouldn’t have any sanctions or lose financial support.

I think that would have brought SB extra time, maybe even into the 2000s. And by then who could say what would happen.
