am I saying this wrong?

Everytime people ask how im doing I say, waan ficanahay. Isnt that grammatically correct, but they always laugh, and repeat after me, or say some cheeky like, ma ficantahay . When I ask them what I said wrong, they say, nothing. And my pronounciation is not wrong. Is it an awkward phrase or something?

I even asked my mother before and she told me it was right
