This old monkey is just mad because Al Shabaab is shooting of all his friends.
Al Shabaab is actually doing good work by terminating its rival Islamists. It just means less Islamists around to cause problems. They should shoot Aweys and that raxanwayn creep in the head too. Neither man has repented and they both hold jihadi views. They've just surrendered because of their fallout with the even more extreme members of Shabaab. All of this is probably less about ideology than money and power within the organization.
