So i think my dreams of the aristocratic 18th century England idealization has been debunked by a book i am reading. While the sophisticated and enlighten English aristocrats lived in their great estates and pampered grand gardens- London was a mess hell hole. Absolute poverty. Public hanging. Stench streets. I am reading a book called amazing grace. The Bio of the great abolitionist Wilberforce. He woke up one day, & suddenly became a fervent Christian. He is responsible for making slavery outlawed in England and then in USA.
Except my awakening is Islam.
Suddenly, i am not really charmed by these pot pooping English aristocrats.
Should i be obsessed with the aristocrats of the umma post 650 then? Can u imagine the story that exist in those Haraams? I mean, Where did the English Aristocrats get from Must have estate gardens? From the Abbas, the Ummayats & The Ottomans. Nearly ALL English Aristocrats would travel to Istanbul, called the great orientalist tour, and learn how the grand sultan lived their lives.
Charming food for thought ma ha?
