She is actually Reer Dudub, Jibriil Yoonis, she is from the family of Xaaji Bahdoon. She had her first meeting chairing the Ministry of Health in Addis Ababa.

She is the first Somali female to ever hold the position of Federal Minister of Health . She has a PhD in Medicine.
