It is so fire in Somaliland that a camel is going for $100. This same camel use to go for $700-1000

Yet the restaurants and butchers are selling it at the same price as before. This proves the incompetency of the government there.

How should a government intervene ?

Put your Adam smith or Keyes philosophy here folks.

Should we allow the economy govern itself? Should the government nationalize the essential items such as food and oil?

This is imploding Somaliland without the south firing one shot. :drakewtf:

People are selling their camels before they die of starvation. That's why the price is so low.

If the government controls prices it will lead to major corruption. Better for them to leave it alone.

This is affecting the entire region, SL isn't imploding :drakewtf:

Even in capitalist Western countries there are regulations against predatory pricing. There got to be punishments for this gaajo behavior by the restaurant and butcher.

There's no one blaming the poor herders, they are the victims

If the price of meat is so low then all it takes is one restaurant to lower their price and the rest will copy.

You want the government to nationalize food production? I didn't know you were a Communist :icon lol:

:hemad:Why do you think I habaar the bourgeoise!

I want the means of production in the hands of the proletariat:hahaidiot:

I actually wanna mix deen with half Marxist economical principles.

I want to see cooperative farmlands and livestock ownership.

The harder worker must be awarded while generally providing welfare to all

You don't understand businesses, they collude with each other to keep the prices fixed, the biggest losers are the consumers and the camel herders, this is outlawed in Western countries (at least on paper, effecting the little businesses of course, not the big boys)

Yeah I assumed this was the case. Most businesses there are run like cartels.

This sort of collusion is illegal here in the West.

For instance, if BP gas station is selling one gallon of gas for $2 and the Total gas station is selling it for $1.50 and deliberately lower it when the going market is $2 then that's illegal.

Here in out godforsaken motherland it's winner takes all. Survival of the fittest. The law of the jungle.

Thank you:salute:

Menace made it sound like people were being ripped of left right and centre. You on the other gave a simple explanation that makes sense. Herders selling their livestock before they die off due to famine. Menace blows everything out of proportion and cant wait to attack dawlada :ftw9nwa:

Dire Dewa's son

Malik Obama 4 president.
At those prices I'd buy 1,000 camels at $35-50 per head then pay or lease a nice enclosed land and a care taker preferably family to take care maybe even ship them out..even if 500 die you should make some change.
