Anybody here like wearing box braids, locs, etc

I love protective styles but I don’t see Somalis with them often. I only met one Somali guy with dreads and he looked good mashallah

I currently have some butterfly locs in

Might do some box braids next.

Or maybe mini twists

The options are endless. And my hair grows so fast with these styles it’s almost at waist length now alx

I think it’s nice but I’ve never tried it cos it wouldn’t suit me. My hair texture won’t blend in with it

True, a lot of these styles won’t last if you don’t have a coarser hair texture (like 3c at the very least). One pro of having timo adeeg lol

depends on your hair type pretty sure.

Only if you get it done too tightly (gotta go to the right braider) and don’t take breaks in between styles to let your hair breathe

I’ve been doing these styles for a while now and my hairline is still intact alx

Same! I don't even like doing regular plaits under my hijab.

I don't think anyone was built for long-term braids or they will face the same fate as Stevie Wonder. No one's hairline is 100% bulletproof.

Try knotless braids sis they tend to stay pretty flat on the scalp compared to traditional box braids

Or you can do twists they also stay pretty close to the scalp too, put it in a bun and you are good to go
