Dame I just found out uae has large Somali community more then even uk and European countries.

More than 100,000 Somalis live in the United Arab Emirates. Many of these are people who settled in the UAE before its creation. There are up to 35,000 of people who are Citizens of Western Nations. They came as in the hopes to invest in the UAE. For a long time, the Somali community in the UAE made its mark through businesses and cultural celebrations, and we have tended to settle near each other in areas such as Dubai's Gold Souq or Abu Dhabi's Musaffah.

Inshallah they take over business their.

I am there for an extended period. I don't think it's close to 100,000, it's large but not that large.
Their spread over all the emirates, and theirs a sizable diaspora from the West.

I was speaking to one guy, and he told me many Somalis left because of Covid and the relationship between the previous Somali government and the UAE gov. They were giving us hard time for ViSA.

Yeah there's few. People are leaving though the UAE has been good to Somali but without a passport there is no long term security

the plan is it to leave to the west, get a passport then spin the block

Very wrong information and numbers. Some of my family lived in the emirate of Abu Dhabi before the civil war staying there as expats. Yes there was a signifient Somali expat community before the early 1990s who left for the UK. The community today is very small mostly businessmen from Southern Somalia. Unlike the Northern Somali community in the UAE and Gulf before the war who used to have working class jobs when salaries was decent for that kind of jobs in the Gulf. Somalis are also involved today in social illness in the Emirates totally unheard of in the conservative community that used to live there of yesterday

My aunt has been going there and doing buisness for the last couple years. But she only goes there for a little bit and then comes back to djibouti. It's not a good move to spend all your time in some gulf country when you don't even have citizenship.

Not even close hardly any Somalis here now, the few that are here are scattered and the gold souq has somali shops where all the somali ladies from abroad come to buy Dahab.

I like it here but can get really hot and the lack of nature is a turn off compared to the western countries with the season changes, but it’s safe and clean and Muslim.

also expensive so out of reach for a lot of people.

a lot of the famous tiktokers in the gulf are somali for some reason, somali girls keep going viral on Arab tiktok

Yeah 80s but my cousins family came even earlier like late 60s. They had a chance getting citizenship during the 70s but rejected it cause Somalia was better at that time lol
that also happened in saudi arabia with somalis and other nationalities like yemenis pakistanis. they didnt take up saudi citizenship.

Observe the transformation of statues and witness how Allah brings about humility.

"Behold, how We have bestowed more upon some than upon others. However, surely the Hereafter is greater in status, degrees, and excellence." (17:21)

Tribe-based divisions ultimately contributed to our downfall, as both the Western powers and Ethiopia exploited this tribalism by fueling rebellions. Such actions directly contradict the teachings of the Prophet, who instructed us to refrain from taking up arms against rulers who may deviate from his Sunnah and teachings, even if they oppress us and confiscate our wealth. In the case of Siad Barre, he did not engage in either of those actions, making armed rebellion even more unwarranted.

The Somali population here largely contracted by probably more than 50% in the last decade. A combination of them banning new Somali passport holders visas, their snafus with Farmaajo and them being jittery over AS so much that they question any businessman who goes to Koonfur on a regular basis at the airport resulted in a slow but mass exodus.

When I was a kid growing up here you couldn't go to a major mall without seeing several Somali families, our presence in the suuq was enormous and there were sizeable Somali hoods or inhabited areas in every city with Somali cops and we probably had an economic impact rivalling Iranians to some degree. No such thing now.

There's still a bit of a noticeable ish Somali presence here and there and they still have a lot of shops in the suuq but yeah, not what it was. Most UAE Somalis ran off to Turkey, Kenya or the West.
