Ok so Im looking for some books to buy and found a seller on ebay. He posted to books several days ago and no one has made a bid. It stands on 16 pound. He has deadline until the 9th. So I make a 17 pound bid and within a min someone bid 18, then I make it to 19 and again min later 20. we went up to 36 pound like this and realised I think the guy has another account bidding his own books to make me bid more. So I moved all my bids and everything went back to 16 pound and no bidder. Since I dont use ebay is this normal....I want to buy these books now and cant wait 5 days. Hell i give him 30 pound now if he ships me the books but do I have to wait?
Anyone use ebay?

Lol the books cost 120 pound normally. So this deal on eBay was too good to be true. I’m gonna wait until 1 min before the deadline and make a bid
Ebay is very good. I brought a whole desktop to open up for a very cheap price. Don't bid, always offer the best price. They never refuse

If I find something I want. I set my alarm 5 mins before the end of the auction and I start bidding the last 30 secs of the auction.
It is not foolproof but it works, and for a lower price than bidding from the get go.
