You spend the first 10 - 15 years of your life studying in school so later on in life you can get qualifications for a job to bring in stable income. Then you start your job, your fist dream is to get some independence, moving into your own house, buy everything you need to survive in your new house, (food , furniture, objects needed around the home etc). You settle down get some savings get married. Then after approximately 1.5-2 years of being married you bring your first child into the world. Your kids are a 24/7 job that needs to be taken care of. You will eventually watch them grow up and teach them the skills they need to survive in this world. You put a lot of time, energy and resources to bring up your child to be a healthy and functional member of society. Now your old and you've retired, you have made a retirement home. You have spent so much time and effort in creating offspring that you haven't really enjoyed yourself and accomplished all your wildest dreams and fascinations. Now your kids are out there living there lives in how they want, you are an old man. Was it all worth it ??
