How? Do we think genes are the reasons or social factors ? Prejudices can be based on genetic or “inheritance” which are beyond anyone’s control or social factors like the idea of a “primitive” and “barbaric” culture.

Our society is elegatarian considering we are pastoral nomads and these societies always elegatarian by nature unlike farmer societies like Ethiopian where hierarchy exist. There is nothing better than nomads people.

Somalis were both hierarchical and egalitarian , but we were not very feudal which what some confuse for the only hierarchical structure.

A form of hierarchy is seen in the sultanates/emirates, with clear social classes and egalitarianism is seen in the gurti councils.

Lack of hierarchy or not has little to do with pastoralism or farming. It has to do with an authority that takes control over production.

Pastoralists are producers just like farmers are. But usually pastoralists were inclined to be more distributive in terms of resource sharing which led to a more egalitarian nature and livestock is more of a communal resource.

Yes
