Majority of the world (80%) is Lactose intolerant and I was wondering if some of you guys were:cosbyhmm: I think we aren’t since we are the camel milk connoisseurs in this world but pasteurised milk is what causes the intolerance.

I know one lactose intolerant Somali. Only one. But after clicking on this thread the threads beneath it show that a lot of Somalis are lactose intolerant, including my old friend @Geeljire sanbuur . How is this possible?

It’s confusing, especially since camel-milk is probably the most drunken after water.

Reading this article, I have found the answer:

Basically, The lactate enzymes are produced by only by the people with the recessive genes and when milk is pasteurised, this lactose (which already has enzymes in the milk) is removed to kill bacteria.

This means only certain people have this gene and produce it through adulthood, majority loose it. However, I’ve seen a lot of somalis drink milk normally.

Camel milk doesn’t have lactose I’m pretty sure, or it has very low amounts

Yeah sadly I am, it still doesn’t stop me from having my ice cream or cereal I just deal with the bloating and weird stomach sounds that come with it. I’m also allergic to eggs

A couple are too soft to handle western cow milk but for the most part we good
Chinese and madow people are unlucky however. I’ve heard that they can’t eat Ice creak nor drink milkshake because of their severe intolerance to it..., but meh, at least one race is muscular and strong and the other is clever:kanyeshrug:

I have a habit drinking Alpro milk because I like it. I drink it with my tea because I LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT

No one in the world is intolerant to raw diary especially raw milk. Raw Dairy is the most complete, most healing, most powerful, most growth stimulating and most potent food in the world. You come into this world drinking raw milk (Breast milk).

Pasteurized dairy is most as it is basically dead food, heating kills the bacteria, protein, enzymes, and fats thus making it an inflammatory food to some. While Raw Dairy is the most “prefect” food available.
