This is what happens when you work with FGS. You are able to take part in far more resourcefully. Japan gov program to rebuild SSC along with discussion of projects, given priority at the EAC investment forum for Somalis from elsewhere in Africa to invest in SSC, and now this.

Jeegan will be at a wits end

This is just propaganda. First of all Somalia would have to grant the ICC jurisdiction or a UNSC resolution would have to grant the ICC jurisdiction to look into the matter. Without the approval it's not going forward.

If you remember in December 2023 Somalia and Somaliland signed an agreement acknowleding Somaliland's jurisdiction over Sool.

Even if all this happens you have to then prove war crimes took place with the intent to commit them and there were no nearby military targets and the use of force was disproportionate. And in the opening of the case Dhulbahante militia members would have to worry about the war crimes they have committed on camera.

The ones in the picture are khatumo. It’s their ministries telling their case to ICC

This story is nonsense.

Some countries can successfully use the ICC as a political weapon but not Somalia. Somalia isn't party to the ICC but non-party states can still give jurisdiction to the ICC to look at specific conflicts over specific periods. This is basically like using the ICC to prosecute political losers, some countries have used the ICC on their ex-Presidents after ousting even when the people doing the coups were also commiting war crimes because the court needs the people in control in order to do their work.

The problem with Somalia is that the territory is unstable and there are not yet any permenant winners and the FGS has no territorial control. ICC isn't going to investigate an active war zone, when they can't execute warrants etc. They want cases that they can actually succesfully prosecute.

FGS could only exploit the ICC if they literally conquer Somaliland, until then no chance.

Otherwise it's just an opportunity for smearing someone/some group and taking photos.

Somalia isn’t a party to the ICC and SL isn’t a state. Furthermore, their opposition in Laas Caanood is a militia against a non-state within a non-party state.

The legal headache is crazy.
