Not all of us are from working class backgrounds. Just like most societies, Somalis are diverse in many things including socioeconomic background.

There are homeless Somalis, wealthy Somalis, Somalis that struggle to make ends meet and those that are comfortable.

It is very reductive to assume that we’re all unable to enter the middle class.

For me the goal was never to be middle class. Upper class or nothing. I learnt that when I used to work as a therapist for the NHS. Crappy job. Crappy wage.

I made out the rat race, I'm now an estate agent. I haven't looked back since. I used to pray for times like this:lawd:
