AUSSOM 2025

Why has the government been so unclear about who will participate?

I know that Burundi will not be there, but it is still very unclear whether Ethiopia will be there.

And how many soldiers in total will participate?

It seems like this current government is very unsure about a lot of things

1) One minute Ethiopia is a sworn enemy. States like SWS were demonized and called traitor's for showing Ethiopian support. Next minute the Fgs is best friends with Ethiopia.

2) Whole states in Somalia such as Puntland , Somaliland and jubbaland have cut ties to the Fgs. There is no visible effort to bring them back and have them once again cooperate with the Fgs.

3) The FGs is claiming to want to do 1 man 1 vote, but with HSM having only a year left as well as Puntland, jubbaland and Somaliland cut ties. Not only that but many regions are under Shabaab control. Majority of KGS and Jubbaland are heavily controlled by Shabaab as well as large parts of Hirshabeele. Where will 1 man 1 vote be done. Xamar? That doesn't make sense.

I'm sure there is many other grey areas that this government is avoiding addressing which is confusing to everybody.

if I’m being honest, I though HSM would be having a better domestic policy than Farmaajo but now it’s look like even Farmaajo didn’t have this many problems.

What a waste of mandate and he will probably try to extend his term by a year like every other president.

Same. It's looking like he failed in many areas. He started off well with his war against Shabaab, but that also seems to have been on pause as well.

That whole Somali heshiis, aduunka heshiis la ah, has not worked out at all.

The best thing he could do now to recover is continue the fight against Shabaab as much as possible, as well as trying to at least minimum get Jubbaland and Puntland back on board.

We need as much internal unity as we can. We got too much external issues to have internal disputed and division.

Just look at the current state of the country. I never seen this many clan fights before. Every region has qabils going against each other just like in the 90s. Awful times for our nation :mjcry:

Yh it's not looking good. It's sad after 30 years of civil war we aint learnt anything. 30 years of civil war should have taught us that all this qabyaalad has 0 benefit.

We don't have proper roads, schools, universities, access to clean water or jobs for the youth, and we are busy fighting over land that isn't even have people living there. There is more then enough land for us to share.

I wish Somalis could just unite and focus on building the basic things we need. We need to focus on building the roads, education as well as creating jobs for the youth to stop Tahriib. Then we need to make sure to elimanate starvation and lack of clean water. Then try to give access to people in baadiyo access to education and schools as well.

That would be much beneficial for our country and stability then fighting over a tuulo that has nothing but desert and a ceel that doesnf even have clean water.

The saddest thing is they don't even do much. Even in Baidoa they are literally in the Airport 90% of the time. The actual city is guarded by sna/sws forces.

It would be 100% better if they left and the funding they get was given to increase and support the local forces/SNA.
I know brother, of course the filthy Ethiopians won't do shit, it is of their best interests to keep Somalia as a weak fragmented country, if Ethiopia was a weak fragmented country I would also not fix or empower them, they're our eternal enemy.. But in this age we Somalis have shown to be our own worst enemy... The sad part is we don't even need all these foreign troops, our own boys can wrap up the shabab menace and secure the country, but we don't have good leadership, who are honest and who have the ability or will to unite Somalis with a clear vision, instead we are stuck with the likes of Qoslaye, who travels 90% of the time to foreign capitals, and the remaining 10% uses on nepotism, corruption and to mock his political rivals from villa muqdisho mosque.. Why we are a failed society and country

Facts the saddest thing that I have heard about Ethiopian troops is once there was a Macawiislsy of local troops fighting shabaab around Diinsoor region. Guess what Ethiopian troops done just as the Macawiislsy were being successful the Ethiopians stopped the Macawiislsy and unarmed them. They said they shouldn't be fighting shabaab unauthorized and without Ethiopian forces permission.

That is direct proof these guys are against the progression of our people and country. All we need is for these foreigners to leave and every deegaan to make a local Macawiislsy and trust me Shabaab will be defeated in a mater of weeks let alone months. Especially the Ethiopians they benefit directly from our disunity and shabaab ruling us.

What is there to agree on? I thought HSM said Ethiopian troops would not be included in the new mission, so why are they still in Somalia? This is getting ridiculous. The FGS needs to be upfront about their intentions instead of lying to the people. Surely Ethiopia can’t be this powerful that they can violate our sovereignty with the MOU and face no consequences? I’m shocked.

"Somalia wants Ethiopian troops relocated from certain towns even if they are allowed to participate in AUSSOM. Ethiopian officials appeared unhappy with the idea."

I don't get what relevance this has. Why would the Ethiopian troops be moved out of where they are and what benefit would this have. Also where would the Ethiopian troops be moved to and why?

HSM wants to take over KG and replace Laftagren but Ethiopia refused lol

They want Ethiopia moved out so that either FGS forces or someone more amenable to their interests in those regions (JL in particular) can be brought in that HSM can use in furtherance of his political interests.

The biggest issue with HSM is that he has no political compass guiding him. Whether you like Farmaajo or not, at least he had a clear political agenda and you knew where he wanted to take the country. HSM just wanders around like a lost Israelite.
