Awdal state movement was ofcourse in support of Ethiopia investing in a port in Awdal, either saylac or lughaya which would benefit the local economy and create much needed jobs. The problem lies in Ethiopia getting land to make a military base and a huge chunk of sea. We all know that will lead to annexation.

Awdal people aka Gadabursi wanted to negotiate a port and development for their region. That was intent of their letter. They didn't want FGS or Somaliland to enter into an agreement without their consultation and approval. No mention of land being given to Ethiopia or bypassing FGS this was supposed to be investment and partnership. Now that somaliland is trying to bypass them and FGS they are putting brakes on the process. Maybe middleground will be found between somaliland FGS and Awdal either way people in south shouldn't be creating conflict and flaming war. Awdal probably has been most peaceful region of all of somalia last 30 years
