Probably a good idea. Niqab is arab culture, nothing to do with Somalia. Also cuts down on potential terror attacks.

As for the effect of Aisha and Asma ', may God be pleased with them, it is only the actions of female companions and they do not indicate the obligation but rather the legitimacy, so they do not deny this evidence but rather disagree with its understanding and interpretation.

Niqab is not wajib. It is also a security risk cracking down harder on this makes alot of sense.
The fitnah is the niqab itself there is no compulsion in religion. The sanctity of life and security overules the non-obligatory ruling of Niqab just like how eating pork under starvation is allowed or breaking fast under intense heat waves.
