Stupid danyeers don’t know the difference between ethnicity and religion

worst of all, clap for this garlic breath who likes how much his people cucked ours
the dude was right. somali identity is tied with islam. dont put up a nationalist facade you go to bed with bradley waiting for you there. :russ:

Bunch of low IQ beast arguing not just the fact but the sentiment behind it.

As I said before all nations mythologise. It should warm your heart that Somalis are willing to tie Islam to their identity to this extent unless you’re a gaal shaytaan. Even if you disagree on a “factual” basis, keep your fucking mouth shut and go along your way. Or go challenge other ethnic historic claims if you have the mettle.

Our mythology is that we were Muslim (read: monotheists) from points zero, and we will continue to push this in the face of your obstinate screeching.

:sass2: I see you gaal yaal.

Islam > over everything

Muslim bother > ex Muslim or Gaal Somali

You seem to get mad whenever we deny your Somalimno if you leave Islam.

Stay Mad.

:salute:

A dhega cas should not have a say in this. A somali should be telling him that. We really need to gatekeep everything about our culture.

I agree with this arab but he has no business telling that, he needs to f*ck off.

The problem I see here is somalis involve other groups into our inner stuff too easily. Niggas don’t know how to set boundaries. For a group who is supposed to be insular we sure like telling ajanabis our business.
This is it. Reminds me of the Rwandan Hutu who embarrassed his Somali wife on his podcast and said she claimed to be half Yemeni bc she’s a self hater. Whole time she’s reer xamar 💀 always puttin niggas on

People don’t seem to understand that Islam has become intertwined with somalis, the history before our conversion to Islam is pointless to bring up because cultures change. I doubt there were any pagans in Somaliweyn in the 1500s, even in the baadiyo so we can safely assume 99% of somalis were muslim for atleast 500 years.

A community of atleast 5000 of non-muslim somalis doesn’t exist anywhere in Somaliweyn or matter of fact in the horn and adjacent areas. Few secret murtads don’t count. There is no comparison we can make, like with the oromos who have multiple faiths and are connected by their own culture. The rendille people contrary to the popular believe were not driven out by other somalis due to not accepting Islam but rather they were cut off by oromos and thus remained pagan. They too would have become muslims like the rest of somaloid people.

People are arguing semantics on this issue need to face reality. You can’t be among somalis if you are gaal, it simply is unacceptable. Somalis are ethnoreligious due to the fact we define ourselves as muslims with also our ancestry. Textbook ethnoreligious group.

Your lineage doesn’t change. That is how Allah created you. A son of so and so.

If you decide to turn your backs on the deen of Allah ( Authobillah, may Allah protect us from that). The reality of what you are doesn’t change. The deen tells us to call people by what they are.

Can anyone provide me with any Islamic proof that if someone decides to leave you can now change their lineage? We have clear. Hadiths about how you cannot change someone lineage.

I will end with this. A Somali who becomes a non Muslim, is still very much Somali. It is haram for me to lie about their lineage.

But a Muslim ajnabi will always be closer to me than a Somali gaal.

Sorry Saxib and likewise, you can’t change people’s lineage in Islam. Point blank you are what your abo is.

Also, an ethno religion is a religion in which you need to be from one specific ethnicity to be that religion which certainly isn’t what Islam is. So it seems you have the meaning muddled up. Islam is a religion open to all, so how can Somalis be of a ethno-religion?

Yes, have Somalis been Muslim for centuries upon centuries? Yes. Are our norms and values interlinked and interwined with Islam yes. Will you be ostracized if you leave? Yes.

Does that mean we can abandon actual Islamic principles about lineage? NO. You are what your abo is, point blank. We have been told, call him my his fathers.

In saying that a Muslim ajnabi is closer to me than a Somali gaal. End of.

Islam is a universal religion: anybody can covert today and leave the next day it doesn’t effect your race, language or decent. Only your faith.

Usually the ethno religious groups are what they are because leaving the religion defaults you to another ethnicity. For example an egyptian copt becoming muslim simply becomes arab egyptian because thats what arab egyptians were. Or a Bosnian becoming catholic means they get accepted by croats because its seen his loyalty is with another community - back then there was no concept of nationality.
That no longer applies for the most part - its more of a medieval concept due to the birth of nationality, im sure for example there's a large number of these ethno-religious groups that have people who left their religions and are just accepted, take jews for example which is probably the most strict one.
So what would a non muslim somali be? oromos and rendilles themselves have a strict lineage. The logic falls flat on its head there.
Lastly there never was such a thing as "somali" ethnicity. It just means people who speak disparate languages and who were just accepted or adopted. Take rahanweyn who are clearly a seperate ethnicity, or cad-cad whom most somalis just accept as somalis. For most of the last 1k years or so we identified by qabiil first and foremost, and there's evidence of somalis accepting non-muslim somalis representing their qabiil interests, take michael mariano who was a catholic somali who represented a qabiil. We as a people are heavily influenced by islam but I dont think this ethno-religion concept really is understood or even exists amongst somalis.

People might think this because Somalis have only known Islam for ages and the previous religions left no remnants. But in reality, religion does not ethnicity.
