According to the Somali Embassy in the US, these Somalis contacted the Embassy and asked for the departure instead of sitting in jail indeterminate fighting in courts. This according to VOA website. These included some with criminal offenses and others who had their application for immigrant status rejected. All in all, the sky hasn't fallen and there is no reason to blame anyone else other than the current political system that is thriving on race and religion.
If you look at the countries put on the list for visa denials, they have few things in common with the exception of Iran:
- Bombed by the US and Many of their citizens killed in direct US involvement
- Drone attacks with the periodic collateral damage that kills many innocents, training ground for US drone pilots basically
- Chaotic countries and very poor.
The stated purpose of addressing American fear of Islamic terrorism was not achieved in the list since Muslim countries with Money and Influence in the US didn't make to the list. It is a show and scapegoating the poor African Muslim who has two strikes against him: Black And Muslim.
Mind you, if some of you think People like Trump and His supporters care about a black man's religion and whether he is non-muslim or not, you are deluded. You can be hardcore Christian and they won't like you either way. I work with some of them.
