Bajuuni people

Who are the Bajuuni people, what is their genetic makeup ( percentage of ethnic somali if any) and where did they currently live/found both in Somalia and abroad? Saw a tiktok which showed a picture of a few of their men back in the 1900’s. They looked like Khoisan’s

Baajuunis are much more indigenous to Southern Somalia than the Lamagoodle aka Faradheer people. Southern Somalia was prosperous until Lamagoodle aka Faradheer people arrived. They then ruined everything. Lamagoodle aka Faradheer people are paradise wreckers.

They’re a mixed nation, some of their clans are Swahili, some are Somali and some are even Malagasy. When the Warday oromo conquered southward almost up to Lamu many people, both Sabaki bantu and Garre Somali took to the sea.

Those who were left on land became the Kilii and would hide in the forest because the Boni would sell their heads to their warday masters.

Bajuuni are a confederacy consisting of a plethora of tribes. The ones found on the somali coast are mostly of somali stock. They're the ones found on the bajuuni islands and they're the ones who first settled the coast and dug the wells of kismayu and afmado before being kicked by the wardai or absorbed by them.

Prosperous in what way 😂, no one knew of them until the 19th or 20th century

The bajuni are a confederacy of tribes with mixed somali, persian, arab and bantu ancestey They (used to) live in villages along the coast from the jubba to lamu in kenya, there are in fact more bajuni in kenya than somalia. They speak kibajuni, which is a swahili dialect, specifically a northern swahili dialect similar to what reer barawe speak and so they should be seen as part of the larger swahili muslim coastal cultural sphere which extended from baraawe up to mozambique.

Swahili is an indigenous language in Southern Somalia. Bajuni, Bravanese, Gosha, Shashi, and other Cad-Cad communities have spoken this language till millennia.

It's in the bimaal family tree and you can even find it among the garre who say they belong to the dir branch of samaale. Some even say that isaaq belong to maxamed xiniftere mahe dir. They've been mentioned by the italians too.

Which Maxamed Hintifire subclan does this abtirsi belong to? I don’t see any of these subclan names further down his abtirsi

You mean the italian one right? That one is a bit wacky so take it with a grain of salt. My overall knowledge on these sub clan divisions is superficial, i think someone such as @anonimo would know more.
