A hidden war crime: footage sheds light on horrors of war in Syria – video explainer​

Newly released footage obtained by the Guardian shows a massacre, which was committed in the southern suburbs of Damascus in April 2013; groups of civilians rounded up, blindfolded, handcuffed and marched towards an execution pit unaware they are about to be shot dead.

The Victims probably got assurances that they will be save, but the soldiers were lying, leading them to the pit.

The rookie militiaman froze in horror as the scene unfolded: a blindfolded man was led by the elbow and told to run towards the giant hole that he did not know lay in front of him. Nor did he anticipate the thud of bullets into his flailing body as he tumbled on to a pile of dead men beneath him.


One by one, more unsuspecting detainees followed; some were told they were running from a nearby sniper, others were mocked and abused in their last moments of life. Many seemed to believe their killers were somehow leading them to safety.

When the killing was done, at least 41 men lay dead in the mass grave in the Damascus suburb of Tadamon

Alongside piled heaps of dirt that would soon be used to finish the job, the killers poured fuel on the remains and ignited them, laughing as they literally covered up a war crime just several miles from Syria’s seat of power. The video was date-stamped 16 April 2013.

It was a document for their superiors, it was mentioned that they filmed while adressing their captein, and in the report of the Guardian, the one who found the video was a new soldier who knew IT stuff and repairing the intellegance broke computer, he found out the video and others, and took them, then sent it.

What the hell you are talking about? He is the terrorist, but trying to hide. Did you read the report? These ppl were incient ppl detained at check points or on street, then got killed without knowing they will be killed. There is no terrorist except Isis, Alqaeda and Bashar
