I’m so happy to be Somali and a Horner in general. We have our issues, like the back-and-forth gender debates between Somali men and women, but it’s usually just banter. What I see with madow people, especially Black Americans, is on a whole different level.
The way Black American men openly disrespect their women is disgusting and pathetic. They let other races cuss out their women, and instead of defending them, they join in or humiliate them even more. Social media and real life are filled with constant conflict, self-hate, and division. Black men in industries like rap, the NFL, and the NBA seem to prioritize non-Black women, often having mixed-race kids, while Black women are in non-Black men’s comments asking if they even like them.
It’s ironic to see so much hate toward Somalis coming from them when they clearly hate themselves and each other. They complain about the Black community but keep tearing each other down, letting the world see their mess. Meanwhile, Somalis have our problems too, but at least we still have pride and respect for one another. Watching madow people hate themselves and their own women so openly is just sad and embarrassing.BTW i identify as a black african woman , but when these things happen im not invloved.
