UAE steals old and rare trees from Socotra Island

The UAE has stolen old and rare trees from the Yemeni island of Socotra before stealing large amounts of coral stones, rare birds and so on.

The above is no doubt happening in Puntland and Somaliland.

This coral stones are extremely valuable and no money can buy them.

Back in 2007 Cadde Muuse used to sell it to them in Dubai.

I am 100% sure they are taking coral stones right now.

Followers of the events of Yemen described the theft as being carried out under the guise of re-legitimacy where the theft of Yemen’s civilization and its benefits and the occupation of its islands and resources.

Shouldn't Socorta belong to Somalia? It is in fact closer in proximity to the coast in Somalia than Yemen. I've always wondered how Socorta fell into Yemen's hands rather than Somalia. We are naturally seafaring people so why didn't any ethnic Somalis take the initiative to settle on the Island?

This guys who steal rare trees what would you imagine they do in Somalia?

The “Blood of the Two Brothers” tree, one of the most important features of Socotra’s archipelago, is considered a rare tre

The Island is quite barren and the Somalis near it never had the population (due to lack of fertile lands) to settle in it compared to Yemen.

I heard that Keenadiid sold it to the British but I can't find a source. A few Somalis do live there but it's not the most hospitable environment.

UAE is not brain dead. They are taking valuable trees to their homeland after conquering that island. The real brain dead people are those clearing all the trees in their country so Emiratis can smoke sisha.

It's a shitty island who cares!! it can't even be used for tourism.

:kodaksmiley:
Could be oil in the region, the fishery industry could extend to the island and Yemen(Arabs) is with breathing distances to Somali naval trade. its an important island to Somali interests

One of the biggest embarrassments in Somali history is that little island was never under Somali control, despite its proximity.
Somalis have no initiative. Look up the distance between bauvet island and Norway the country that annexed it to gather resources.
