Kenya and Ethiopia should have never be allowed in Somalia amisom mission in the first place. Send Gambians, Nigerians, Burundi etc who dont have an agenda other than to collect $$. Allowing nations who you have territorial dispute send troops is madness.

But which president invited ethiopian troops and then amisom a year later? His name escapes me

:cosbyhmm:

The US invited them hence them being kickstarted by them with hundreds of millions in funds, if the question you are actually asking is how are they still there? Well you can ask the people who can’t seem to govern themselves.

Also using your flawed logic any govt post 2007 would have been able to remove them unless you believe the 2007 govt was somehow stronger than Farmaajo’s govt in 2019.

:heh:

I can already imagine the 'president' having a word on this "Today is a historic day in the bilateral negotiation with our brotherly nation ethiopia who will help lead us into a new era of beees and prosperity through our mutual cooperation. We thank you our brother Ethiopia!"

Did AY even put up a fight though? He went along with it

In hindsight, what did it achieve other than radicalize thousands of youth? Half the problems the country faces today stems from that decision.

I’m not the bias one... it seems you are. The capital had been not habitable for humans and even Villa Somalia was a no go zone keep in mind this was more than a decade and a half. I’m not sure if you are trolling but terrorists literally took over Mogadishu and were chopping people’s heads off left and right, AY AUN saved countless lives and wanted to make the south as peaceful as PL, because of him Farmaajo and the other presidents are able to stay in Mogadishu, but you seem to prefer anarchy and chaos. I bet you thought 1991 Apedishu was the ideal Somalia.

Lol ICU was alshabab they were already radicalized, you're blaming the man that revived Villa Somalia while militias occupied it. ICU threatened Kenya and Ethiopia and also wanted to expand into northern Somalia blaming others won't solve your current situation in Mogadishu. ICU killed people left and right during that time and the US considered them a terrorist organization.

The issue with somali people is they are hypocritical and cherry pick too much. The entire somali government is built off of foreign troops to somalia unfortunately. If they are true to their words they would fight to dismantle it and start from scratch instead of pulling a sheikh sharif. You can't blame one tribe for bringing ethiopian troops while still supporting the government they built for you. It just doesnt make sense

Al shabab is chopping ppls heads off so let's invite our eternal enemies, who want nothing more than somalias downfall, to kill tens of thousands. What kinda logic lol. Shabab in their entire existence didn't cause the damage in terms of lives lost that invasion did. Not only was it a terrible idea in the moment but it looks even worse in hindsight

So you are a Shabab sympathizer? You could have just said that from the start it would have made your comments more understandable.

the country already had foreign troops tbh, also these people know they would be without a government if it wasn't for AY cracking down on people squatting in villa Somalia. They support civil war looters/squatters hence why they don't want this current government to return property or take back government/state land property. One of the worst regions lower shabelle is a big example of land and farm grabbing conflicts that is still holding the country back and why the south is having constant famines.

Don’t bother bro their back track game is too strong they criticize Farmaajo about being protected by AMISOM and Ethiopia till you bring up Abdillahi Yusuf then they quickly change the narrative to bbbb but he brought them to fight terrorism,he liberated the capital,he’s the reason the SFG exists pretty irrelevant shit that misses the whole point about foreign troops in Somalia it’s mind boggling :drakekidding:

I could agree with you but then we’d both be wrong

The title of AMISOM commander has term limits. A Djiboutian general was the AMISOM commander back in 2016. It's just a temporary title and nothing more.

Yeah. The way @Farm switches from anti to pro Amisom once you bring up AY is astonishing. I'm actually impressed.
