Farmaajo's Somalia troops take over UAE-run military base in Mogadishu
The order by Farmaajo President of Somalia to its Defence Ministry to end military cooperation coincides with the closure of a UAE-funded hospital and the seizure of $10m from UAE diplomats at Mogadishu airport two weeks ago.
Somali troops have taken over a military base in the capital Mogadishu run by the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The order to end military cooperation betweenSomalia and the UAE comes amid growing bilateral tensions.
It follows the closure of a UAE-funded hospital last week.
