With co-ordinational support from Turkish consulate in Hargeisa , The largest public university in Somaliland, University of Hargeisa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Istanbul Medeniyet University in Turkey. The two universities will have to widen areas of collaboration, namely medical specialization and research.

Turkish company is believed to also be bidding to run Hargeisa airport expand it and build a luxury hotel .
It is also believed that Turkey ambassador to somali(a)/land is to uphold the promise he made last year to start accepting the somaliland passport .

Turkish representative said ' we was waiting for the presidential election to conclude to begin working with the new government' . Turkey is expected to announce more development project in somaliland . Let's see what they bring .
