Brothers and Sister look at things in a different way

I keep seeing threads in the general section popping up about Somali men getting mocked for their looks on Social media. I get that there is a lot of hate against Somalis on general on the Internet, and we shouldn't deny that but I just wanted to remind the brothers that being confident of yourself is more important than looks or anything else, and the same goes for the sisters.

People online have become too superficial and are just focused on looks as if that is the scale you weigh a human being on. Whilst our beloved The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "A woman is married for four things, i.e., her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should marry the religious woman may your hands be rubbed with dust (may you prosper).'"

So following the wisdom of our Prophet a man should know that in seeking a woman he shouldn't make beauty the biggest condition, but rather he should look at her religious commitment and steadfastness - same goes for the sisters when looking for a man to marry. Our religion teaches us that we excel one another in only one thing, and what is that? In piety/God fearing, not in looks or wealth or any superficial thing. As Allah says s.w.t

13.O humanity! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female, and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may ˹get to˺ know one another. Surely the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous(God fearing) among you. Allah is truly All-Knowing, All-Aware.- Surah Hujaraat-13

To cut it short, all I'm saying is that as Muslims we shouldn't judge each other superficially based on looks. How many people are there who aren't the most handsome or beautiful, but have the most beautiful of hearts or Allah has bestowed upon great knowledge of Islam? How many girls are there who aren't the most beautiful but wake up in the middle of night praying to their Lord? How many brothers are there who may not be the most handsome but have the most beautiful quran recitation?

I made this thread because people were mocking Barkhad Ali, whilst forgetting that he is a creation of Allah and a human being. If you focus just on looks, in the end you will judge even yourself with this narrow viewpoint and it will lead to a lack of self esteem/confidence to the point you will always end up comparing yourself with others.

A man/woman should learn to be content and happy with what Allah has given them, and work to build and purify their inner self. Confidence comes from contentment and being happy with who you are, if you attain that, then whatever others say won't have any affect on you and you wont need to seek the validation of others
