This video was from 2007, when the current Liberal government was not in power.
In the video, the Somali bootyclapping Liberal MP David McGuinty showed his support for khat legalization. He is the younger brother of former Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty, another Somali bootyclapper who threw grant funding at Somalis and created the only ethnic sports leagues for us. He also funded our thousands of Somali clan organizations when other organizations had to beg for scraps.
I suspect khat will be legalized in Canada shortly if Ahmed Hussen and the Somali community asks the PM to look into the issue.
Edmonton Somalis are majority in favour of khat legalized but Ottawa Somalis are not in favour. I am not sure where Toronto Somalis stand on this issue.
I will be emailing Liberal MP David McGuinty tomorrow and ask that he bring up khat legalization in his caucus meeting but I suspect Ahmed Hussen is against it and will try to silence him.
