He wasn’t saved due to CCTV, but an undercover NISA agent present on the scene who alerted authorities. You can see him jumping the would be assailant.

Some people have said that, I suspect many of these 'politicians' are double agents that use shabab as a weapon against enemies by giving them intel, etc. otherwise how else do you explain terrorists getting past several checkpoints before carrying out missions? Either way, security was much better under him.
