Instead of filling up empty homes, why not help these people get jobs and move out of poverty? The Grenfell tower situation is unique because they are essentially rendered homeless, but in general, these council homes should be temporary until they get on their feet. There should be an exhaustion period and incentives such as afford home ownership, trades and technical programs (free), free university education, better paying jobs. Both May and Corbyn are both horribly out of touch. The program is too much spending and way too many cuts (Tories), but the solution shouldn't be more social spending, it should be sensible social spending and more spending on self-sufficiency programs.
