I love Somalis and Somalia to first bring it out and I have my own reasons for my viewpoint. I say this because the reason why I am a proponent for an Independent Puntland is not that I hate certain clans or out of despite as other seccesionists or because of a mistreatment by certain clans in Mogadishu in 1991, Kismaayo or Gaalkacyo.

Nor comes my wish for a Independent Puntland from a viewpoint of having my fiefdom where I can be President and do whatever I wish as Puntlanders are one of the people that ruled all of Somalia and countless Presidents, Prime Ministers and other high ranking officials hail from.

I love the success and our togetherness but we are hampered by lack of real national fabric.

Somalis are close to each other but it looks like they want separate things. In order to heal our long disagreements in politics as this is the only divider I decided it would be best if Puntland goes its own way.

Sadly we have a corrupt, inept and corrupt leadership in Puntland that is taking advantage of sentiments many Puntlanders for varied reasons hold and want to take advantage of.

Puntland has much potential and with the right leadership and vision can make huge progress and put their mark among the people of this world.

This is a honest opinion of mine and I felt the time was right to declare open my political stance.

Long live Somalia. Long live Puntland.

Inquisutive I agree regarding the politicians part but we should also acknowledge that their are regional differences.

For example Puntland ruled itself it had a structure and system of sort though defunct but it is still in the culture. They had a Kingdom and governance.

I remember when Prof Samatar wrote about North Eastern Somalia prior to Puntland formation that it was a shame for the people of there not having a proper state.

Also from 1998 onwards Puntland had been autonomous. Maybe we need to splitter into couple of nations to realise the worth of every region within Somalia.
