Why did Siad Barre bomb the hell out of the north? Kill thousands? Destabilise the entire horn for decades?

We need an in depth Netflix documentary on this. There might be military leaders still alive today able to explain this in great detail.

He was trying to take out the SNM, SSDF and other rebels who were plotting against him. Most died from thirst or hunger.

Total opposite. He was trying to keep the country together
