From what I’ve seen in this documentary, the Congo is definitely more developed than Somalia/Somaliland/Puntland/Djibouti. I guess that’s what happens when you have majority of the worlds resources.





At minute 27:28 it’s shows this Congolese guy who convinced investors in Florida to fund a 400 million euro electricity project.

Saudi Arabia has the most important non-human resources on Earth oil. They also have the backing of the US with their agreement to sell oil for US dollars aka petrodollar. True Congo has a lot of tantalum and other resources but their people are not united behind one leader so you have all these rebel groups trying to get power while regular people suffer. Saudi is lead by King Salman and his family there are no disputes about who is in charge so that money is then used to keep the people happy and non-rebellious.

ALL i could notice is how africans are original and precious. I think i have said this before- Congo people are small framed. The difference between rich and poor is NOT stark like Nigeria. Or even Somalia. Somalia has even number of difference between poor and rich. Organic difference.


I like the bustling life in the market tho-- they are hustlering to earn a living. Thats charming. The maggots woman kinda made me forward the video quickly tho

Maggots are a cheap source of protein there. But you will never see Somalis eat maggots, even in a Famine they have too much pride.

Proteins? What happened to Fufu, that is robust protein right there. I thought they used it for medicine purposes. I would have given them a slack if that was the case. Literally they are moving and dancing alive, while the lady seller nonchalantly sat there like she was selling biscuits, not concerned at all.

I doubt they will do good like Rwanda did.

Not everybody lives on the coast though, and like you said it’s huge. For some it would take days to get to the ocean for fish.
