When police randomly ask you for your social security number, without a name, you know they want to check if you have a criminal record before harassing you. I told the guy right away, do you ask people for their social security without even asking for a name, is that protocol? Like a meek guy, he looked up and down again trying to write the numbers clearly avoiding looking me in the eyes. Then asked for my name, confirming I was correct. Like I was seriously smiling thinking, do these people unnaturally ask people for a bunch of numbers without asking people to present their names, what kind of bullshit is that.
I could tell they were intimidated by the way they looked down and tried to be tough only briefly but shut their mouths as soon as I told them to use their brains, talk to me with respect, and do their jobs properly instead of wasting my time. Later, the guy I just gave my ID number and name, writing both down on a notebook, asked me for my name again after he called up to the central and found I was clean. In disbelief at how that broke expectations, the guy had to ask me again. Annoyed and pissed off, I told the guy, "I gave you my name, you have it written down. Why ask me this question?" The fool had called the central, the information on my social security would be consistent with my name, but the guy was desperate to reaffirm his racial bias. After that, being silent they exchanged a few words in a low mumbling voice, and then they walked away.
I realized only later that I dominated them because they walked away with their tails tucked between their legs, not even speaking when I told them they had to learn the concept of respect and that they should not speak to me or approach me in whatever way they tried first.
I can tell a lot of cops join the police force because they want to be bullies and feel weak inside, wanting to throw their weight around with no consequences and having this forced condescending tone. But I probably looked like one of the guys they used to fear in school so I gave them that PTSD when I started to literally son them. They walked away right after they called up the center and confirmed I did not have any recurring criminal history, that shit clearly broke their brains.
I was even stopped and frisked years ago on some bullshit that was completely made up. Saying I was a drug dealer and they had me on camera. Police are often goofy. They did not talk to me and another African friend (who was an athlete without a criminal history too) when we were among the white people, but they drove slowly behind us when we were walking away from the crowd having a nice time. Had we been the drug dealers they thought we were, they would have tried to embarrass us amongst the whites in public view. That is how they move, so we knew they were only there to harass us based on racial profiling.
You will find alright cops now and then but the majority of them are typical people with chip on their shoulders that are very eager to indulge in their biases. With that, you will rarely get objectivity, impartiality, or fairness. So you have to move smart. Don't act aggressively even if you feel justified because that is what they want. Apply strong reason, demand dignity and respect in a way that works for you, within the confines of where they'd look foolish if they escalate, and always outwit them without wilding out (control your emotions). They hate people who view them as bums, so embody a citizen disappointed with how they seem to be incompetent. That shit burns their insides more than anything else.
Oh yeah, this only applies to places outside America. In America, just take the abuse and move on, brodie. Better than than getting shot.
If you have a police story, comment.
