Somaliland is. They can’t claim Las Anod is a part of Somaliland but then blame Dhulbahante for this. Since when do individual clans get to make decisions on issues such as immigration? That’s the job of the national government. Somaliland forces were the ones who escorted the trucks to Puntland not Dhulbahante clan militia so it’s clear this decision came from Hargeisa.

I don’t blame Dhulbahante for this. Even if the locals had complaints, the Ministry of Interior is responsible for all immigration issues. What’s the point of the Somaliland’s Immigration and Border Patrol if individual clans can decide who to deport? This useless organization even has a website

Somaliland forces took 9 trucks crammed with nearly 1,000 people through Hawd and dropped them off at the Mudug border (Puntland). Only a heartless individual would argue Puntland should have turned their backs on these people.

Yh this is very common. Syrians protest Assad from Turkey.

At the end of the day you don’t want 1000s of people being deported to your lands. You’ll have to sustain them as they’ve lost all their income/livelihoods. It’s an economic drain so it’s important to raise international awareness for the brutal SL regime
