Doubt this is real, on the off chance it is. Then it Isn’t a smart move on their part. The SFG quite literally has the authority to blacklist them, they have the ability to sanction them, cutting of their ability to partake in international financial transactions, cutting of their ability to access the global financial market, having the ability to freeze their accounts both in country and abroad etc. Which would in turn rain havoc on their companies, would be interesting to see if the SFG actually is willing to take these steps.

It's true but the question is where have all the merchant accounts that businesses use gone now that every bank is claiming they never provided merchant account services in the first place

LOL Dahabshiil is based in Djibouti and so is Hormuud. No one uses Somalia as their base for international transactions.

Wasn’t aware of that. Still doesn’t change the fact that Somalia is one of their biggest market, if not their biggest market. If they choose not to comply, their right to operate will be withdrawn. That’s hundreds of billions of dollars worth of money and infrastructure investment been lost and or ceased.

The reason they are not complying is probably because they are scared. If the government shuts them down what services are people going to use? What suicidial company is going to suddenly take their place. Government can't exist on laws on alone it must have a legitimate monopoly on force.
